With less than a week to go before the big event, Turning Point USA has finally announced its headliners for its All-American Halftime Show: Gabby Barrett, Lee Brice, Brantley Gilbert, and Kid Rock.

“We set out to provide an entertainment option that will be fun, excellent, and exciting for the entire family while millions are gathered together for the big game,” said Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet in a press release.

“These performers will deliver exactly that, and we can’t wait to watch the incredible show they’re about to put on. We know millions around the country will be watching too.” Fifty-five-year-old Kid Rock was once a household name in the “country rock” genre; his biggest hit, “All Summer Long,” debuted in 2007. Since then, the Waffle House Legend Award winner has made his conservative politics well-known, teasing a run for office in 2017 and appearing at the White House in 2025 to witness the signing of an executive order. Rock is joined by Academy of Country Music Award winner Brantley Gilbert, whose song “Bottoms Up” placed number 15 on Rolling Stone’s list of “Bro-Country’s Biggest Bangers.” Grammy-nominated and Country Music Association Award–winning artist Lee Brice is best known for the song “I Drive Your Truck.” Gabby Barrett, the only female performer on the list, won the Academy of Country Music’s “new female artist of the year” award in 2021 and finished third on the 16th season of American Idol. The four of them will face off against Latin music superstar Bad Bunny, who recently won the Grammy Award for album of the year. At least one of these performers is unafraid to say that the odds are stacked against them. “We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible…or is it?” said Kid Rock in a press release. “He’s said he’s having a dance party, wearing a dress, and singing in Spanish? Cool. We plan to play great songs for folks who love America.” As of now, it’s unclear where the event will be taking place. The show will be streamed around 8 p.m. ET on February 8 on the following platforms: TPUSA YouTube, TPUSA X, TPUSA Rumble. Who knows, maybe Nicki Minaj will make a surprise appearance too. The original post continues below. Remember the All-American Halftime Show? Last fall, conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA made a big fuss about throwing one as counterprogramming to Bad Bunny’s headlining halftime performance at Super Bowl LX on February 8. But although the big event is less than 10 days away, it’s currently unclear who is headlining Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show”—or if it’s even happening at all. It all began on September 28, when Roc Nation announced that the Latin music superstar would headline the halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, sparking mass uproar amongst conservative football fans. Bad Bunny is one of the most popular artists in the world; he’s currently nominated for album of the year at the Grammys for his critically acclaimed sixth solo studio release, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, and was Spotify’s most-streamed global artist in 2025. Yet conservatives were up in arms that the Puerto Rican musician was chosen to headline America’s biggest night. Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly called the choice “a middle finger to MAGA and conservatives” on her Sirius XM show, while right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson said Bad Bunny was a “massive Trump hater; anti-ICE activist; no songs in English.” President Donald Trump eventually weighed in, saying Bad Bunny was “a terrible choice” and claimed that he had never heard of the artist. “I don’t know who he is,” Trump said of Bad Bunny. “It’s, like, crazy. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.” Trump might have personal reasons for hating Bad Bunny. Born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in San Juan, Puerto Rico—a US territory!—Bad Bunny has, as Johnson said, been incredibly outspoken against ICE and Trump’s anti-immigration regime. Bad Bunny chose not to bring his sold-out Debí Tirar Más Fotos world tour to the continental US, instead setting up a 30-plus day residency in his native Puerto Rico. “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate,” Bad Bunny told I-D magazine. “But there was the issue of—like, ICE could be outside . And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.” His concern now seems well-founded. While appearing on Johnson’s podcast on October 3, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem promised that ICE would be “all over” Super Bowl LX, adding that she had every intention to “enforce the law.” The hoopla surrounding Bad Bunny’s headlining gig provided the perfect opportunity for Turning Point USA to make a splash. Days after the Bad Bunny announcement, Turning Point USA announced an alternative “All-American Halftime Show” set to take place the same evening as Super Bowl LX. The event was publicized without any headliners, but a message on social media that swore “performers and event details coming soon.” A website for the event included a survey that asked the public for their opinion on what genre of music should be performed at the event, with options like “Americana,” “Worship,” and the xenophobic “Anything in English.” In the weeks following the announcement, rumors swirled about who might perform at the event, while some musicians volunteered their services. Trump’s favorite opera singer, Christopher Macchio, told Vanity Fair it would be “my honor to perform if called upon,” while Trump’s daughter-in-law, aspiring country singer Lara Trump, said that she’d happily perform at the All-American Halftime Show . Still, it’s been months since that initial announcement. And looking at how much—or rather, how little—has been revealed regarding the event since the announcement on October 9, it might be smart to place a Polymarket bet against the event taking place at all. There have been practically zero public updates regarding Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show;” as of publishing, there has been no confirmation of who is set to perform at the “All-American Halftime Show,” or where the event is set to take place. The event’s website is virtually the same as it was when it launched months ago—complete with a list of right-wing streamers set to air the show, including but not limited to The Daily Wire and OAN News. Instead of a survey asking who should perform, there’s a box where interested parties can sign up to receive updates on the “All-American Halftime Show.” Yet Andrew Kolvet, a spokesperson for Turning Point USA, tells Vanity Fair that the show will, in fact, go on. “We’ll have updates next week,” Kolvet said in an email to Vanity Fair on January 27. “It is happening.” We’ll be waiting for those details. We do have a hunch about who might wind up headlining, though: Over the past few months, Turning Point USA has gained an unexpected new fan in rapper and 12-time Grammy loser Nicki Minaj. In December, the “Anaconda” singer sat down with TP USA CEO and Charlie Kirk widow Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA’s annual AmericaFest convention, where she expressed her newfound support for President Trump. On January 28, Minaj doubled down on that support at a press conference with Trump and Marty Supreme star Kevin O’Leary. “I am probably the president’s number one fan,” said Minaj. “And that’s not going to change.” Perhaps Kirk will convince her new pal to hop on stage at a heretofore undisclosed location and go toe-to-toe with Bad Bunny on February 8. Trump, at least, should be available to attend whatever show Turning Point USA puts on. In a statement to the New York Post, the president revealed that he plans to skip Super Bowl LX and the faceoff between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. Last year, he was the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, watching the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs. Why skip the big game this time around? “It’s just too far away,” he told the Post. “I would. I’ve great hands the Super Bowl. They like me. I would go if, you know, it was a little bit shorter.” Does that mean Trump might show up at the All-American Halftime Show—wherever it may be? We might just have to wait till next week to find out.
