This C8 Corvette sold for $89,000 a month after bidding reached $101,500. Few performance cars in the US offer more for under $90,000 today. This Corvette E-Ray 3LZ features a striking red and black leather interior.
It’s no secret that there’s never been a better time to buy a C8 Chevy Corvette Z06 than right now. The latest 2026 Corvette lineup has shifted the pecking order with the debut of the ZR1 and ZR1X, pushing the once-top-tier C8 Z06 down the ladder. This change has sent used Z06 prices into a steep decline, and the drop hasn’t stopped there. As it turns out, prices of the Corvette E-Ray are also falling, making it an even more tempting proposition than the Z06. It is a 2024 model painted in Arctic White and was listed for auction through Bring a Trailer last month. Despite being a well-equipped 3LZ model and carrying an original price tag of $118,935, it traded hands for just $89,000. To rub salt into the wounds of the seller, they could have sold it for much more just four weeks prior. In June, the very same E-Ray was listed through BaT, but failed to hit the seller’s reserve, despite bidding on it reaching $101,500. By waiting a month, likely hoping the car would sell for more on the second try, the seller ended up losing an extra $12,500. Ouch. Falling Prices, Rising Appeal Obviously, this is bad news for sellers, but it’s great news for buyers. The E-Ray may have been overshadowed by the Z06 and its high-revving 5.5-liter naturally-aspirated V8, but the all-wheel drive system of the E-Ray means it’s actually quicker in a straight line than the Z06. Additionally, more of the power is available lower down in the rev range, whereas you really need to rev out the the Z06 to get the most out of its V8. Bring a Trailer Outright performance aside, a softer suspension setup makes the E-Ray a better daily driver. Its 6.2-liter V8 also has cylinder deactivation, making it more fuel efficient than the Z06, which lacks such a system. Sure, if you’re in the market for any C8, fuel efficiency shouldn’t be at the front of your mind, but as they say, every penny saved is a penny earned.
