The Turkish authorities have said 12,000 search and rescue personnel and 9,000 troops are currently working in affected areas. Ms Severoglu got into her car and welcomed in strangers so they could get out of the blistering conditions. She spoke to one lady who experienced the Izmit earthquake in 1999, but this one was much stronger according to her."In one room there were 30 people.
