Turkey issues new NAVTEX dated August 18 to September 15, for the site where its Yavuz drilling ship will be carrying out its work

The latest NAVTEX includes a warning which read,"it is strongly advised not to enter the field of work."

In light of the announcement, Yavuz, Ertugrul Bey, Osman Bey and Orhan Bey vessels will continue their work in the eastern Mediterranean near the southwest of Cyprus. Upon the announcement of NAVTEX for Turkey's Yavuz, the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus released a counter-Navtex. It can also serve as a warning to other vessels to steer clear of an area due to the sensitivity of the work being carried out and a signal of a country's sovereign exploration rights.
