FLAGSTAFF, AZ — The Tunnel Fire burning north of Flagstaff along Highway 89 has forced community evacuations and destroyed two dozen buildings, according to the Coconino National Forest.VIDEO: Thursday, April 21

— Coconino County April 19, 2022 Areas generally east of existing evacuation areas near Moon Crater, North of Leupp Rd, South of Stone House Wash to the Navajo Nation border are in SET status. Prepare now for possible evacuations if ordered.Officials say the fire is rapidly spreading in a northeast direction due to high winds with medium-to-high range spotting happening in timber and grass.

Coconino County officials said Wednesday night that they’ve been in contact with restoration companies and trash services for when evacuees can eventually go back to their homes.
