Adrian Bott sees a bigger, more powerful colt ready answer all challenges this spring,
The encore to Tulloch Lodge’s 35 two-year-old wins of last season, including Lady Of Camelot’s Golden Slipper and Storm Boy’s Magic Millions victories, was always going to be interesting.
“It’s about seeing how they’ve developed and changed, and where they’re going to be best placed,” Bott said. “We have a good group of three-year-olds with different options and a few different paths to take. Storm Boy has garnered plenty of attention in a seven-start career for five wins, and that focus brought about a change ownership to Coolmore for $22.5 million.
“As a more mature horse, we have been able to increase his training load and he just handles it. It is a great sign.” “The 1100m first up has given him a nice grounding, but the tempo Storm Boy set there stretched him a bit,” Bott said. Dawn Service, which ran into Autumn Glow at his last start, has been sent down to Melbourne for the Exford Plate at Flemington.
