: Seorang tukang cuci warga Indonesia didenda RM2,800 atau dipenjara sebulan oleh Mahkamah Majistret di sini hari ini kerana memiliki barang kemas bernilai RM4,000 kepunyaan seorang wanita, yang dilaporkan hilang minggu lepas.
Wanita itu turut berdepan satu pertuduhan utama iaitu mencuri barang kemas berkenaan, namun dia tidak mengaku bersalah atas pertuduhan tersebut. Kesalahan itu dilakukan di sebuah kedai pajak gadai di Jalan Besar Sungai Way di sini pada 4.05 petang, 20 April lepas mengikut Seksyen 411 Kanun Keseksaan yang memperuntukkan hukuman penjara maksimum lima tahun atau denda atau kedua-duanya.
Pengadu kemudian memeriksa almari itu dan mendapati barang kemas miliknya tiada. Pengadu kemudian cuba mencari tertuduh kerana mengesyaki tertuduh mencuri barang kemas berkenaan, namun tidak dijumpai.
