Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is battling his old contract, per his lawyer.
While Carlson is going on three weeks since he was last on the air, the popular former anchor still has a contract with the Fox News network through January 2025.The network is reportedly attempting to pay Carlson off in the $20 million range not to work for any other network. However, Axios confirmed with sources that Carlson has been approached by NewsMax, video platform Rumble, and even Twitter CEO Elon Musk.
"The idea that anyone is going to silence Tucker and prevent him from speaking to his audience is beyond preposterous," Carlson's attorney Bryan Freedman told the outlet. Twitter could be a winning platform for the host, as the platform he posted his first video on since being ousted went on to receive 16.5 million views, with 1.8 million viewing it within the hour it was posted, about an hour before his former program began, in a tweet viewed by 53.5 million.Meanwhile, Fox News saw just over 1.7 million viewers on Tuesday night with Brian Kilmeade in Carlson's place. The night before, viewership dropped by 21% since Carlson drew in 3.
