We asked if the Senator had heard anything about the possibility of federal transportation officials approving a loan that would pay for 49 percent of the project's cost.
FOX10 News spoke Wednesday morning with U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, and asked him the latest information he’s heard about funding for the bridge.
Specifically, we asked if he’s heard anything about the possibility of federal transportation officials approving a loan that would pay for 49 percent of its cost. Tuberville said, “You know what? What a disaster, I mean that thing should have been started construction on several years ago. But I’m going to tell you, up here, nothing is going to happen fast in the federal government when we get involved. This is just part of the process, another hoop to jump through. So I hope the entire delegation is working and get together and closely work with our governor and the House and the Senate to get this thing underway.
Tuberville said we need the Governor and elected representatives to come up with a plan, and that former President Donald Trump can get involved if he’s elected. But Tuberville says the process needs to start soon, because every day bridge construction is delayed, the price goes up.
