Tuberville said he talked with the contractor when he was in Mobile late last month. The senator was in Mobile speaking to the He told FOX10 he believes the bridge needs to be completed as a matter of national security and talked about meeting with bridge officials while he was in the Port City.
“We talked to the people, the contractor that is working on the bridge, we talked to the Department of Transportation there in Alabama. We are working as hard as we can possibly can. The White House, the President will have to make a decision on that in the future. He’s got a lot more on his plate right now. But we need to get the bridge started: just get it started, get it going,” Tuberville said. State and local officials for years have sought ways to finance a new bridge and a wider and taller bayway to replace the current Interstate 10 span that connects Mobile to Baldwin County.
