The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows travelers to bring baked goods through security checkpoints, but there are some rules. If a food item can be poured, sprayed, spilled, squirted, or pumped and is larger than 3.4 ounces, it must travel in a checked bag. This includes items like maple syrup, preserves, and jellies. Travelers are advised to pack baked goods in a sealable plastic bag and then in a gift bag, cookie tin, or gift box with cushioning.
