A proposed TruNorth Shell gas station, convenience store, and car wash on Miller Road in Brecksville, Ohio, has received preliminary approval from the Brecksville Planning Commission. The project awaits final approval, contingent on addressing some concerns raised by commissioners regarding building aesthetics and security.

BRECKSVILLE , Ohio – A plan to build a truenorth Shell gas station, convenience store and car wash on Miller Road has received preliminary approval from the Brecksville Planning Commission.voters on Nov. 5 rezoned the proposed gas station site“We’re awaiting November ballot approval,” Rick Turner, senior project manager with Diamond Z Engineering Inc.
Turner was referring to a recently completed expansion of the 77 interchange at Miller. The project added a northbound exit ramp off the freeway and a southbound entrance ramp. Turner said the construction materials would include brick and EFIS – exterior insulation and finish systems, also known as synthetic stucco – with stone accents.
Commissioners were also worried about security in the back of the building and asked Turner whether a window might be included in the rear wall so that police can see inside. The commission also asked Turner to adjust some of the building materials and consider changes to the gas pump canopy roof, since the roof will be visible from a hotel in Valor Acres.
