Has Rudy Giuliani always been crooked, or did he only recently lose his mind? To andrewkirtzman, the answer is neither—and both.
of election-fraud conspiracy theories? Had Giuliani always been unscrupulous, or had he lately lost his mind?is Kirtzman’s second biography of “America’s mayor.” The first, published in 2000, sprung from Kirtzman’s years of covering Giuliani for NY1, the city’s 24-hour TV news station. Not long after the first book appeared, Kirtzman was with Giuliani as the World Trade Center collapsed, a shared experience that adds nuance to the new book’s narrative.
Much of what he’s done in recent years has been appalling. From a writer’s point of view? It’s such an epic story.
