He announced the formation of a task force , headed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, to investigate the purported 'targeting' of Christians. During his address at the National Prayer Breakfast, Trump emphasized his belief that 'people can't be happy without religion, without that belief. Let's bring religion back. Let's bring God back into our lives.
' This announcement follows a recent surge of executive orders enacted by Trump since his return to office last month. These orders have focused on implementing his conservative agenda and fulfilling campaign promises, encompassing areas such as immigration, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, and energy production. Among his actions, Trump has withdrawn from the Paris Agreement, rescinded 78 Biden-era executive actions, and imposed a federal hiring freeze.Trump, while speaking at various events in Washington coinciding with the annual breakfast, stated that the newly established Bondi-led task force would be directed to 'immediately halt all forms of anti-Christian targeting and discrimination within the federal government, including at the DOJ, the IRS, the FBI and other agencies,' which he characterized as 'absolutely terrible.'
