Rockford Register Star37m agoThe Canadian dollar will remain at the center of the country's financial system, the central bank chief said on Monday, responding to questions about a Conservative leadership candidate's pledge to make the country the blockchain capital of the world. The Bank of Canada is currently working on its own central bank digital currency, a so-called digital loonie, that could be launched if a private digital tender were to take off as a payment system.
"STORY: The palm tree has been in Paseo de la Reforma avenue for a little over 100 years. Mexico City locals bid their last farewell to the historic landmark by playing music, holding hands and taking pictures. “It's very sad but we welcome these changes with something that will be a landmark in the city,” said Karen Arias, who came to get a final look before the tree was removed.
