Trump says Mueller probe was a 'total exoneration' of him and his campaign, but the report leaves open questions about obstruction of justice
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—President Trump on Sunday described Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation as an “illegal takedown that failed” and said its findings were a “complete and total exoneration” of him and his campaign after it didn’t establish any collusion with Russia in the 2016 election.
Speaking to reporters as he prepared to leave Florida for Washington, Mr. Trump said the question of whether his campaign colluded with Russia was the “most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.”
