New data reveals that despite historical trends, Donald Trump now boasts a positive favorability rating in half of the U.S. states. This surge in popularity, particularly among traditionally non-Republican demographics, coincides with a shift in voter demographics that could significantly influence future elections.

Donald Trump currently enjoys a positive favorability rating in half of the U.S. states, according to new data. This signifies a shift in public perception, as historically, presidents typically experience a 'honeymoon period' with heightened positive ratings at the start of their term. However, Trump's favorability has seen improvement since the 2024 election, particularly among traditionally non-Republican voting demographics like Black and Generation Z voters.

Some polls indicate a realignment in voter demographics, possibly shaping future elections.Trump's highest favorability rating is in Wyoming, where 69% of registered voters view him positively, compared to 27% who hold an unfavorable opinion. Wyoming, a deep-red state, saw a 3-point increase in support for Trump in 2024. Other Republican strongholds like West Virginia, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Alabama also exhibit strong favorability ratings in the 60s. Conversely, Trump's lowest favorability rating is in Vermont, with only 26% of registered voters viewing him positively, while 71% hold an unfavorable opinion. Hawaii closely follows, with 28% expressing a favorable view and 69% an unfavorable one. Despite being solidly Democratic states, Vermont experienced a 3-point shift toward Republicans, while Hawaii moved 4 points toward the GOP in 2024.In key swing states that ultimately backed Trump, opinions remain divided. Arizona shows 50% favorable and 47% unfavorable, while Georgia reflects 51% unfavorable and 46% favorable. Michigan and Nevada exhibit similar trends, with 50% unfavorable and 47% favorable. Trump's ratings are notably weaker in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Wisconsin, where unfavorable opinions outnumber favorable ones by 4 to 7 percentage points. This trend is mirrored in Democratic strongholds of New York and California, despite both states experiencing the largest rightward shifts in 2024, each swinging 12 percentage points towards Trump compared to 2020. In New York, 59% hold an unfavorable view, while 38% have a favorable opinion. California reflects 64% unfavorable and 33% favorable.
