Despite weeks of playing down the spread of the virus, and with more than 1,000 cases in the U.S. already confirmed, Trump addressed the U.S. from the Oval Office inAlways sensitive to the stock market, Trump said in his address that"this is not a financial crisis, this is just a temporary moment of time that we will overcome together as a nation and as a world." He was keen to emphasize that the travel ban is meant to stop people from coming to the U.S.

It's up to Trump decide whether to suspend or end it."This proclamation shall remain in effect until terminated by the President," the text of the ban reads.The ban will start Friday at 11:59 p.m. U.S. eastern time. Flights headed to the U.S.
