'Apparently it's not OK to show empathy for people.'
President Donald Trump's border czar Tom Homan responded after pop icon Selena Gomez reportedly posted an emotional and quickly deleted video to social media in which she lamented the ongoing ICE raids.
In the video reportedly posted to Instagram Monday, Gomez appeared to react to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids that are targeting illegal immigrants across the nation. "The children, I don't understand. I'm so sorry, I wish I could do something for the kids. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise," Gomez said in the video,Monday, Homan asked Gomez where her tears were for the thousands of Americans who have died from fentanyl coming across the U.S.-Mexican border.
"I met with hundreds of Angel moms and dads who are separated from their children because they buried them because they were killed by illegal aliens," Homan"We got a half a million children who were sex trafficked into this country, separated from their families, put in the hands of criminal cartels to be smuggled into the country. This administration can't find over 300,000.
When speaking to FOX, Homan denied any attacks Gomez referenced in the viral video and asserted that ICE was only seeking out illegal immigrants with prior criminal history.that Gomez was criticized on Instagram for sounding out of touch and eventually pulled the video. She later wrote on an Instagram Story, "Apparently it’s not ok to show empathy for people," per The PostTrump declared a national border emergency during his first week in office and deployed 1,500 troops to the border.
