'Trump seems to have been forced to realize that his big threat was met with a big 'meh.''

Trump’s time out is over. Photo: Tomohiro Ohsumi/Getty Images President Trump has backed down on his threat to impose new tariffs in his trade war with China, and will once again allow U.S. companies to sell to Huawei. As Intelligencer’s Josh Barro recently reminded us, “Over the last two-plus years, Trump’s overwhelming pattern on trade has been to chicken out, and the Chinese have taken note of this.” And that was before he launched and then cancelled a war with Iran.
