was dealt a blow by jurors in New York this week, raising concerns as to whether another defeat is to come if his attorneys are granted their request for a jury trial in a separate civil case in the state.on all 17 counts of criminal tax fraud and other related crimes. After more than a day of deliberations, jurors reached a verdict that carries limited financial consequences but could hurt his 2024 presidential campaign and give his political opponents new ammunition.
Last month, the former president's lawyer said during a court hearing that Trump is not only willing to testify in the case, but that he would like to have a jury trial over a bench trial, the latter of which is decided by a judge. The civil case is set to go on trial on October 2, 2023.
