A new poll indicates President Donald Trump's net job approval has reached its best level in three months, though a majority still disapproves of his performance. The survey points to a slight easing of opposition amid ongoing economic and foreign policy challenges.
President Donald Trump's job approval rating has shown a modest improvement, reaching its highest level in nearly three months according to a new Napolitan News Service poll.
The survey, conducted by RMG Research, Inc., reveals that 44 percent of respondents approve of Trump's performance, while 53 percent disapprove, resulting in a net approval rating of negative nine percentage points. Although the majority still disapproves, this represents the strongest net rating for Trump since early April, indicating a slight shift in public sentiment. The poll, fielded from July 6 to July 14, 2026, with 2,000 registered voters, has a margin of error of 2.2 percent.
The decline in disapproval to 53 percent, down from higher levels in previous surveys, contributed to narrowing his net deficit. A White House spokesman, Davis Ingle, praised the president's accomplishments, citing job creation, inflation control, and housing affordability, among other achievements, and framed the results as evidence of ongoing progress. The findings contrast with recent polling that placed Trump's approval near historic lows for his second term and with polling averages that still show a net negative rating nationally.
The political landscape remains challenging, with foreign policy scrutiny over Iran and economic concerns such as inflation and cost of living weighing on public opinion. Despite these headwinds, the latest poll suggests a stabilization or mild improvement in the president's standing. The survey follows other polls that highlight demographic shifts, including slipping support among men and young voters, but a positive flip among rural voters.
