He described it as a 'very nice letter', noting its 'inspirational' nature. Trump added that he 'appreciated the letter' and found it 'positive' for Biden to have written it. This exchange follows the longstanding presidential tradition of leaving a letter for their successor, a practice initiated by President Ronald Reagan in 1989. This tradition has continued through multiple administrations, including those of Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Trump himself.
