Trump campaigned by pledging to close the U.S.-Mexico border and order a largest-ever deportation operation on his first day in office.

Spokespeople for the transition and Miller did not immediately respond to requests for comment Monday.Trump on Monday also asked Rep. Mike Waltz to serve as his national security adviser, tapping a retired Army Green Beret who has been a leading critic of China and a skeptic of NATO. In addition, he named Rep. Elise Stefanik as his pick to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and former Republican congressman Lee Zeldin of New York to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

“If those orders aren’t executed or carried out, then what the hell are we doing?” Homan said. “Nothing in immigration law says you need to commit a very serious criminal offense to be removed from the country.” “I’m sick and tired hearing about the family separation. … Bottom line is, we enforced the law,” he said at the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2023.
