Weisselberg and the Trump Organization were charged in 2021 as part of the Manhattan District Attorney’s broader investigation into the company and its finances, which began in 2019. Weisselberg, who has worked for the Trump Organization since 1973, is so far the only individual who’s been charged in connection with the investigation, and Trump himself has not yet been held liable at all in the probe.
