Former President Trump announced the military would begin nuclear weapons testing, citing the growing arsenals of Russia and China and his belief that the US has more nuclear weapons than any other country. The announcement was made ahead of a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

President Trump has ordered the military to “immediately” begin testing nuclear weapons in response to the growing arsenal Russia and China are amassing, he announced Wednesday. “Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
