President-elect Donald Trump announced he would nominate Paul Atkins, a former SEC commissioner and current CEO of Patomak Global Partners, to run the SEC.
Atkins was hesitant to take the job, CoinDesk previously reported.
The former regulator visited Mar-a-Lago, Trump's Florida resort, earlier this week but was initially reluctant to take on the role,"He believes in the promise of robust, innovative capital markets that are responsive to the needs of Investors, & that provide capital to make our Economy the best in the World," he said on his social media platform Truth Social.
