President Donald Trump on Wednesday showed he’s laser-focused on Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she guides House Democrats’ impeachment probe, live-tweeting in response to her weekly news briefing with accusations that she’s neglecting legislative goals.
“Nancy Pelosi just said that she is interested in lowering prescription drug prices & working on the desperately needed USMCA. She is incapable of working on either,” Trump tweeted. “It is just camouflage for trying to win an election through impeachment. The Do Nothing Democrats are stuck in mud!”The accusatory tweet comes after Pelosi started the news conference by emphasizing the progress on H.R. 3, legislation to lower the cost of drug prices, as well as the push for enforceability language in the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement.“When the president says that he can’t do anything as he has the threat of impeachment or a consideration of impeachment, I hope he doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to work together to lower the cost of prescription drugs,” Pelosi said. “I think we can work with the administration on prescription drugs, I hope so, and infrastructure, I hope so, clean government, that’s more of a challenge."
