"Many of the rioters, arsonists, and left-wing extremists who have carried out and supported these acts have explicitly identified themselves with ideologies -- such as Marxism -- that call for the destruction of the United States system of government," the order said.the creation of a task force to counter what he called “violent anti-government extremists”, whom he distinguished from “peaceful demonstration protected by the First Amendment.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee appeared nonplussed by the executive order during an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Friday evening. Inslee said Trump should be focused more on the spread of coronavirus as infections grow, particularly in southern and western states.The protests have reigniting conversations on the legacy of historical figures who have advanced slavery or colonialism. Organizations from NASCAR to the U.S. Marine Corps have begun publicly rebuking Confederate symbols.
