Former President Donald Trump's lawyers have filed three new motions to dismiss the case surrounding his alleged attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
Jack Smith's team will also get a chance to respond to the newly filed motions within the next few weeks. "Whatever one thinks of President Trump’s expressed opinions on this issue, his assertion of them does not constitute 'deceit' or 'trickery,'" the motions read, adding that the"claims alleged in the indictment all related to the most publicly visible, vigorously disputed, and widely reported debates of the day."
