The Trump campaign is reportedly eyeing a longtime GOP consultant from Virginia for its 2024 campaign.
Sources familiar with the matter told the Washington Post that Trump is considering Chris LaCivita to join his campaign as either a campaign manager or senior adviser, and discussions are already underway, though no solid decisions have been made.
LaCivita gained fame for his efforts in organizing the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth to campaign against Democratic nominee John Kerry in 2004, contributing to his defeat. He is currently a senior strategist for Make America Great Again Inc., a Trump-aligned super PAC. He neither confirmed nor denied the latest speculation about a role within Trump's prospective third presidential campaign.
LaCivita has proven himself a Trump loyalist over the years, going as far back as 2016 when he played an instrumental role in helping to stop a floor effort at the Republican National Convention to deny Trump the nomination, per the report.The GOP veteran could at least partially replace the role previously played by Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who acted as a senior adviser in 2016 and 2020 and served as a White House adviser along with his wife, Ivanka Trump.
Donald Trump has heavily hinted that he plans to run again for the White House in 2024 but has not formally declared his candidacy."I will probably have to do it again," he said at a rally this past weekend.
