Former President Trump hints at a possible 90-day extension for TikTok, leaving the fate of the popular app uncertain. While the Biden administration has stated they won't enforce a law banning TikTok, the platform faces a potential shutdown on January 19th due to lack of clarity regarding enforcement.

Trump spoke to NBC News' Kristen Welker in an exclusive phone interview Saturday, discussing his plans on what to do about the popular social media app."I think that would be, certainly, an option that we look at. The 90-day extension is something that will be most likely done, because it's appropriate. You know, it's appropriate. We have to look at it carefully. It's a very big situation," Trump said in the phone interview.

The fate of TikTok is one of the subjects that has consumed the final days of the Biden administration, and many of the app's millions of U.S. users are eagerly awaiting a resolution. “We have seen the most recent statement from TikTok. It is a stunt, and we see no reason for TikTok or other companies to take actions in the next few days before the Trump Administration takes office on Monday,” she said.

In the past, he's signaled his support for letting the app remain available to users in the U.S., citing the high number of views his TikTok accounts receive.Even before the Supreme Court’s ruling, Biden administration officials signaled that they would not enforce the law on Sunday, the last day of Biden’s term.
