Trump claimed that a deal had been struck between the two parties to remove acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) William Pulte in exchange for Democratic support on FISA reauthorization. However, Trump alleged that Republicans moved too quickly in scheduling confirmation hearings for Jay Clayton,the current U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Novel York, to replace Pulte,causing Democrats to renege on the agreement.
