One group of GOP voters still prefers Trump to any other Republican candidate in the 2024 presidential election: Republican women. Among women the former president far outpaces both GovRonDeSantis and NikkiHaley.
A new poll found that 40% of Republican women voters would support Trump for the 2024 election, almost twice the amount that DeSantis received. The Florida governor earned 23% of the votes, while Haley followed behind at 9% and former Vice President Mike Pence received just 8%, according to the poll released by Fox News. The poll also asked respondents who their second choice would be, with DeSantis coming out on top at 25% support.
When respondents were asked who they would pick between Trump and Haley, the former president took the majority of the votes, earning 67% support against Haley's 23%. The other 10% was made of 1% of respondents who said they would not vote, 7% saying they would support someone else, and 3% saying they did not know. The respondents were also asked what they thought of President Joe Biden, with 91% disapproving of his performance as president and 8% approving of it.
Both Trump and Haley have announced their candidacy in the 2024 presidential election. DeSantis and Pence have yet to announce if they will run in the next presidential election, though both are seen as likely contenders, with DeSantis viewed as Trump's biggest rival.
