Trump administration to print Census without citizenship question by kadiatubman
The Trump administration announced Tuesday that the 2020 census forms will be printed without a citizenship question.
“BIG WIN for our democracy. Now our work to ensure a fair and accurate #2020Census moves forward,” tweeted Census Counts after news broke about the administration’s decision. “We're committed to ensuring our communities know that it's safe, important, and necessary to participate.” After the Supreme Court ruled last Thursday, President Trump tweeted that he asked “the lawyers if they can delay the Census, no matter how long” to give administration officials more time to deliver a better explanation for why the citizenship question should be included.
