Vice President JD Vance reveals the Trump administration is considering several aggressive actions against China, including removing Chinese stocks from U.S. exchanges. Vance states they are 'looking at everything,' including tariffs, restricting Chinese stock exchanges, pushing back against intellectual property theft, and potentially expelling certain Chinese nationals. This comes amidst escalating tensions with China, fueled by President Trump's tariffs.

The Trump administration is contemplating stringent measures against China, including the removal of Chinese stocks from U.S. exchanges, according to Vice President JD Vance in an interview with FOX Business' Maria Bartiromo. Vance emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach, stating, 'We need to look at everything.' He further elaborated, 'We need to look at tariffs. We need to look certainly at some restrictive activities when it comes to their stock exchanges.

We need to look at ways of pushing back against intellectual property theft. We need to look at ways maybe of expelling certain Chinese nationals who are using our openness as a society to take advantage of the United States of America.'Vance's comments came during a time of heightened tensions with China, particularly in light of President Trump's tariffs. While Vance refrained from making any binding commitments on Trump's behalf, he disclosed that the president is actively considering various options as part of the administration's efforts to counter the perceived threat to the country. The White House announced on Saturday that the Trump administration would impose a 25% additional tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico and a 10% additional tariff on imports from China. This move was aimed at holding these countries accountable for their commitments to curb illegal immigration and the flow of illicit drugs, including fentanyl, into the U.S.In response, Canada and Mexico promptly announced retaliatory tariffs. However, on Monday, a truce was brokered, with Trump and the Mexican president agreeing to a one-month suspension of tariffs on both sides. As part of the agreement, Mexico pledged to deploy 10,000 troops to the U.S. border. Trump further indicated on social media that he had spoken with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and planned to engage in further discussions. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry asserted that the unilateral tariff hikes blatantly violated World Trade Organization regulations and would not resolve the U.S.'s domestic issues or benefit either party, let alone the global community. China, the spokesperson claimed, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to counternarcotics efforts both domestically and internationally. The spokesperson emphasized that China was the first nation to officially categorize fentanyl-related substances as a class in 2019 at the U.S.'s request and has engaged in extensive counternarcotics cooperation with the U.S. The statement concluded by suggesting that the fentanyl issue primarily concerned the U.S. and that additional tariffs could hinder future collaboration on counternarcotics efforts.
