The White House announced the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) discovered and halted a $50 million payment intended for condoms in Gaza, calling it a waste of taxpayer money. DOGE head Elon Musk suggested this was just the tip of the iceberg, alleging that much of the funding may have ended up in the hands of Hamas. The revelation came during the first press briefing of the new Trump administration, which is also poised to temporarily pause some federal assistance funds to ensure they comply with President Trump's executive orders.

Leavitt further revealed during the briefing the U.S. was poised to send another $37 million to the World Health Organization. She also explained the Office of Management and Budget will temporarily pause some federal assistance funds as the agency determines whether the expenses comply with President Donald Trump’s recent executive orders.
