The U.S. president renewed his plea for Sweden to release the 30-year-old musician, tweeting: 'We do so much for Sweden but it doesn’t seem to work the other way around.'

: President Donald Trump has once again pleaded with Swedish authorities to free detained rapper A$AP Rocky as he accused the country of “letting the African American community down.” On Thursday, prosecutors charged him with assault in connection with a fight in Stockholm on June 30th.

Trump tweeted late on Thursday: “Give A$AP Rocky his FREEDOM. We do so much for Sweden but it doesn’t seem to work the other way around. Sweden should focus on its real crime problem! #FreeRocky.” In a later tweet, he added: “Treat Americans fairly!”- to get the musician released but Sweden does not have a bail system.assault causing actual bodily harm

A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, has been held in Stockholm since July 3rd. He was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after he performed at the Smash hip-hop festival, and will remain in custody until trial. A date has not yet been set.
