A driver has been charged following a fatal crash in the Wollongong area last month.
A BMW SUV and a removalist truck collided at Lawrence Hargrave Drive in Thirroul, a northern suburb of Wollongong, at about 1.50pm on February 16.
A 43-year-old man, who was a passenger in the truck, died at the scene, while the truck driver and two others were airlifted to hospital in critical conditions.The car and truck collided at Thirroul, a northern suburb of Wollongong. Police said the man who died and another passenger of the truck, a 40-year-old man who was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital, were ejected from the truck during the crash.The truck's driver, a 39-year-old man, was airlifted to Westmead Hospital where he underwent surgery before being released.
The BMW driver, a 40-year-old woman, was trapped in her car before she was airlifted to St George Hospital, where she remains.One man was killed and three other people were in a critical condition after the crash. Following mechanical examination of the truck, crash investigators arrested the 39-year-old truck driver at a Colyton home yesterday.He was granted bail and will appear in court in June.
