Terry and his wife Dani are expecting their first child and the original due date had been in May.
“I’ll be staying here just skating,” Terry said on Wednesday. “Basically, some complications have come up and she’s OK. The baby’s healthy. We’re kind of in a weird spot where anything could happen and we’re going to Canada, so I’ll be staying here and skating and meet the team when they come back…So she’s at home and the baby’s healthy.”
Terry, the Ducks’ second-leading scorer with 56 points in 66 games, rejoined the team at practice at Great Park Ice. He left after the second period of Saturday’s game against the St. Louis Blues and missed their game against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. Going forward the plan is to play the remaining home games on the schedule, Terry said. There are eight games remaining in the season, four at Honda Center. The first game of their trip is Thursday in Seattle, followed by games on Saturday in Edmonton and Sunday in Calgary.The Ducks will have Trevor Zegras, who was injured in the Avs game, on the trip. He did not practice and is considered day-to-day.Forward Adam Henrique has been out with an injured knee since Feb.
“We’re where we want to be,” Henrique said. “Now to push where I need to get, there are some things we can work on specifically with just me here on the ice. It’s been good to get a couple of practices in and play a bit. So it’s good and challenging at the same time.
