Sidelined all preseason with a herniated disc, the 6-foot-6 small forward out of Oregon sees himself contributing defensively now that he’s healthy
EL SEGUNDO — Through the preseason and two games, iAt long last, Troy Brown Jr. feels ready to slide in and help.
“I feel like a lot of guys are like driving and penetrating and we don’t have a lot length to recover,” he said. “So, that’s the biggest thing for me defensively.” When asked what he thought Brown would bring to the table, Coach Darvin Ham couldn’t stop listing things. Ham said one standout piece from the Clippers were lineups when LeBron James played center with shooting around him, helping the Lakers close double-digit leads more than once.James playing center can help the spacing on offense while keeping the defense mobile and switchable on the other end. But Ham said he’s trying not to focus so much on how his lineups match up with his opponents as squeezing the most out of them regardless of who is on the other team.
