Tropical Depression Two is expected to become Tropical Storm Bill tonight as it moves away from the East Coast:
Tropical Depression Two developed off the North Carolina coast Monday morning.Tropical Depression Two formed off the coast of North Carolina Monday, but it will be short-lived as it heads farther into the Atlantic early this week.
The tropical depression developed late Monday morning just over 100 miles east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. It's expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Bill. This system poses no major threat to any land areas since it's forecast to move northeastward across the open western Atlantic waters through Tuesday. It will meet its demise by midweek when it encounters cooler ocean waters to the south of Nova Scotia, Canada.
