Barrow poured petrol through the letterbox of the family home in Fairisle Close an set it alight while they were sleeping
The Clifton man who murdered a family by pouring petrol into their flat and setting it on fire has had the minimum term of his life sentence for murder reduced. Jamie Barrow, 32, was jailed in July 2023 for killing Fatoumatta Hydara and her daughters Naeemah Drammeh and Fatimah Drammeh.
Barrow, who lived next door to Hydara and her children, had poured petrol through the letterbox of the home in Fairisle Close in the early hours of November 20, 2022, and set it alight while they were sleeping. The victims all died from smoke inhalation. The Appeal Court said it saw "some force" in the appeal but not all of the criticisms. But it concluded that the minimum term was manifestly excessive.
"He will only be released if the Parole Board is satisfied that he is no longer a danger to society and, even if he is released, he will then be on licence for the rest of his life and may be recalled to prison if he breaches the conditions of any such licence."
