Neighbours rushed to help the homes’ residents and extinguish the blaze, which started just after 8pm.
Three men were taken to hospital after fire tore through three homes in the inner-Brisbane suburb of Hawthorne on Saturday night.
Paramedics said a man in his 40s was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with burns to his head, chest, arms, back and legs. But last night his neighbours were instead the ones who reportedly rushed into a home to pull him to safety and turn garden hoses on the three houses to try to save them.Fire engulfs one of three houses in Hawthorne on Saturday night.Fire crews had brought the fire under control by 10pm, but warned it was still generating a large amount of smoke and urged residents to close their windows and doors.
