will.i.am's TRINITY blends studio-grade audio, real-time AI vision, and a three-wheel leaning design into a single-seat EV concept.
will.i.am is shifting his focus from music to micromobility. At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the Black Eyed Peas artist and entrepreneur unveiled TRINITY, a one-seat, three-wheel electric vehicle concept .The project blends electric mobility with real-time AI while keeping the driver in control.
The vehicle serves as a platform to demonstrate NVIDIA DGX Spark technology rather than a finished consumer product.TRINITY remains a concept, but the team has outlined a clear roadmap. The project launches on Kickstarter on January 6 through a pre-order interest program. The company plans a limited run of 500 units, with deliveries targeted for August 2027. Current pricing projections place the vehicle under $30,000.Manufacturing is expected to be based in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. West Coast Customs and DEKA Research and Development are involved in key parts of the build.AI behind the wheelAt the CES booth, a project spokesperson explained the thinking behind TRINITY in an interview with Interesting Engineering.“This is will.i.am’s Trinity. It’s a one-seat electric vehicle, and the goal is to show what can be done with NVIDIA’s DGX Spark,” the spokesperson told IE. “Right now, it’s a concept.”The system focuses on situational awareness rather than autonomy.“You can talk to the AI while you’re driving and ask it questions about what’s around you – traffic, the environment, what’s happening in real time,” the spokesperson said.TRINITY processes vision data locally. “The car isn’t just aware of where you are on a map. It understands where you are in the physical world,” they added. According to the team, “DGX Spark handles real-time inference for all the vision and camera systems.”Brand identity also played a role in development. “The logo was inspired by the Atari mark – we flipped it upside down to form a ‘T.’ We wanted something as recognizable as Tesla‘s,” the spokesperson said. The name carries layered meaning. “The name ‘Trinity’ comes from three wheels, three lines, and the idea of the Holy Trinity.”Leaning into performanceShahar Hillel, head of tech at FYI, shared more details on the vehicle’s engineering and dynamics.“The actual vehicle design was done in-house by our 3D artist, Po Wang,” Hillel said. TRINITY departs from traditional three-wheel designs. “Unlike a normal trike, this vehicle leans like a motorcycle.”That design choice affects handling and speed. “That leaning behavior allows it to be much faster and more agile,” Hillel said. DEKA Research and Development built the balancing system. “They’re the same team behind the Segway.”Hillel emphasized their expertise. “They’re incredible engineers – this is what they specialize in.”TRINITY targets a top speed of 120 mph and includes a weatherproof cabin, luxury interior, and studio-grade audio. The vehicle carries a single passenger.Looking beyond consumersThe company does not see TRINITY as only a consumer product.“There’s the obvious B2C enthusiast – the person who sees it and says, ‘I want one,'” Hillel said. “But the real opportunity is B2B.”He pointed to fleet and commercial use cases.“Motorbike units are a big example – especially in places where riding becomes dangerous in winter.” TRINITY aims to operate where motorcycles struggle. “This allows them to cross traffic, use highways, and still operate in conditions where motorcycles can’t.”For now, expectations remain measured. “Right now, this is a pilot,” Hillel said. “It’s more about what’s possible than what’s shipping.”
