'The whole community is just in shock and numb with grief'
Tributes have been paid to a well-respected GAA volunteer who died in a Co Armagh road crash just hours after celebrating his 40th birthday with family and friends.
Madden Raparees chairman Paddy Woods paid tribute to Patrick and said the community around the club is in a state of shock on Saturday. "So he is a huge loss to the club, to his family and the whole community is just in shock and numb with grief. A post on the club's social media account described Patrick as a 'brilliant family man' and said its thoughts were with others who were injured in the crash.
A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Police can confirm that a man has died following a four vehicle road traffic collision on Gosford Road in Markethill at approximately 1.20am this morning, Saturday 4th November. Eight people have been taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.
