Trial ordered for man accused of beating grandmother to death with baseball bat in Chula Vista [Breaking]

Gutierrez also faces two counts of resisting an officer. If convicted of all charges, he could face nearly 30 years to life in prison. Officers who responded testified Thursday that they could see Gutierrez through a bedroom window. They said he was throwing items at the street-facing window and walls, and they instructed him to stop, but he did not comply.While Gutierrez was holed up in the room, a few officers entered the home and found the victim in a different bedroom. Officers said Diaz moaned as they cradled her and carried her outside.
