Surveillance footage from the scene shows the suspects putting on surgical masks and changing clothes in a parking lot, prosecutors say.
Surveillance images obtained by law enforcement allegedly show a black jaguar used in the fatal robbery of a Stamford, Connecticut, jewelry store, and one of the three individuals charged in the case. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— Two men charged in connection with a murderous jewelry heist in Connecticut — which ended with a harrowing arrest on Staten Island — are scheduled to stand trial next week in federal court.
Surveillance footage captured from the scene, in the hours leading up to the incident, showed two suspects putting on surgical masks and changing clothes in a parking lot outside of a black Jaguar, according to an affidavit filed by federal authorities in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
As Rallo and Vuono are seen violently wrestling for control of the firearms, Liberatore swipes items from the display cases in the store, the affidavit says. Liberatore, a Connecticut resident with ties to Stamford, Conn., also was released on parole months prior to the heist. His criminal history — dating back to the ‘70s and ‘80s — includes felony convictions for burglary, bribery of a witness and assault on a police officer.
The BMW, meanwhile, crashed at the intersection of Daniel Low Terrace and Corson Avenue into a tree and parked car. The operator, who authorities alleged to be Prosano, exited the driver’s door and fled on foot. He was apprehended a short distance away.Rallo crashed the Jaguar on Tompkins Street in Stapleton and attempted to run away, but also was quickly apprehended, officials said.
