) - The man accused of killing an undercover drug agent will sit before a judge Wednesday for opening statements in his trial.in 2019. Police say Billy Cardy was at a home on Levert Street conducting a drug sting operation when shots were fired and he died.
The prosecution and defense took over a week to widdle down the jury from 130 potential jurors to the current twelve-person jury with two alternative jurors.Leading up to the trial, Brown’s legal team made requests that may provide some insight into its defense strategy. The team members requested the judge reveal the identity of a confidential informant who led the STAC team to Brown the night Agent Clardy was killed.
