, an Amazon Prime Video reality-TV franchise that pits comedians against each other for the last laugh.– a six-part, half-hour series that will have Noah pit 10 famous SA comedians and entertainers against each other in a competition to make each other laugh – will be Prime Video’s first South-African original production.
The idea is to break or eliminate each comedian one by one until just one winner is left standing, eligible to receive a grand prize of R1 million to donate to their charity of choice.“I’m excited to be back home to host Prime Video’s first South African Original, ‘LOL: Last One Laughing,’ and to have a chance to connect with my home audience,” Noah said in a statement.
The format was established with the 2016 show “Hitoshi Matsumoto Presents Documental,” and versions have since been developed for Germany, Australia, Nigeria, India, France, Spain, Iran, Albania, Argentina, the Netherlands, and Brazil. Celebs like Jay Baruchel have hosted the Canada version, while Eugenio Derbez hosted for Mexico, and Rebel Wilson did her thing for Australia.
